This month, we’re featuring Kurt Morgan, Area Manager – Asset Projects and Services.
Kurt began his career as a boilermaker in 2010 and has steadily progressed through leadership roles to become Area Manager at Aerison. Known for his people-first approach, strong safety focus, and integrity, Kurt builds trust within his team and with clients. His leadership continues to drive high performance, unity, and new opportunities for the business.

Your Role & Journey
Question:
Can you tell us about your journey and how you got to where you are today?
Answer:
My journey in the Mining and Resources Industry started back in 2010, when I kicked off my career as a boilermaker. In those early days, I was focused on building strong technical skills and getting hands- on experience in the field.
In 2014, I stepped into my first supervisory role. It was a big shift, and I had some initial doubts, but I was lucky to have leaders who supported and coached me. Their guidance helped me grow into the kind of leader I wanted to become.
That experience taught me the importance of taking a measured approach to career growth. I chose not to move into senior roles until I felt fully ready, giving me time to develop the right skills.
By 2022, I was ready to step up as a superintendent, where I faced new challenges and continued to grow through adaptability, teamwork, and a focus on continuous improvement. In 2024, I took on my current role as Area Manager at Aerison. I’m excited to apply what I’ve learned so far, keep growing, and contribute to the team’s success.
Question:
Can you tell us about your role as Area Manager for Asset Projects & Services and what it entails?
Answer:
As Area Manager for Asset Projects & Services, my role is all about keeping projects on track and making sure we deliver quality outcomes — safely, on time, and on budget.
A big part of my day-to-day involves defining project scopes, planning resources, and managing risks to keep things on track.
I lead a team of talented project professionals, and a top priority is to create a positive, motivated environment where everyone can do their best work. Ultimately, it’s about strong communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Leadership & Teamwork
As a manager, how do you foster a sense of unity and collaboration within your team?
Answer:
Building a strong team culture is key. A positive environment leads to better collaboration, trust, and performance.
I encourage open, transparent communication where everyone feels comfortable sharing ideas and learning from each other.
Creating a safe, supportive space is vital for ensuring people feel valued and respected, which brings out their best work.
Finally, I believe in supporting personal and professional growth, as it benefits both individuals and the team as a whole.
Projects & Impact
Question:
What’s one of the most rewarding projects you’ve worked on at Aerison?
Answer:
One of the most rewarding projects I’ve been part of was FMG’s Transfer Station Remediation project.
What made it stand out wasn’t just the technical scope — it was the opportunity to build a strong, united team culture from the ground up. We came together with a clear vision, set shared goals, and supported each other throughout the journey.
Seeing the team grow, stay aligned, and deliver a successful outcome as one cohesive unit was incredibly fulfilling. It really reinforced the value of culture, collaboration, and clear direction in achieving great results.
Challenges & Growth
Question:
What skills or lessons have been most valuable in your career progression?
Answer:
A few key lessons have shaped my journey. First — continuous learning. No matter your experience, there’s always more to learn, and staying open to that has helped me tackle challenges more effectively.
Strong relationships have also been key. Trust and collaboration with colleagues, clients, and leaders really drive success.
Adaptability has played a big part too — adjusting to new roles, environments, and ways of working has supported my growth at every stage.
